Must a participant be an accomplished musician?
Students will be grouped into different bands depending on their skill level and musical proficiency. For maximum camp enjoyment, however, each student should have a basic working knowledge of his or her instrument. The camp is an ideal experience for students who have applied themselves in private lessons or self-study and who wish to branch out with their skills in a group setting.

What if my child has never been in a band?
That’s a great reason to come to Summer Rocks! Summer Rocks provides the environment and opportunity for young musicians of all levels of proficiency to experience being part of a band.

Are there any additional costs?
The registration fee is inclusive. It covers all sessions, electives, master classes, supplies, and daily lunches

Is the camp safe?
Summer Rocks is dedicated to the safety and well-being of all of the students. It enforces a drug-free atmosphere and lifestyle. Campers are expected to follow the camp’s rules of conduct. It maintains a zero tolerance policy and any camper who violates the rules will be dismissed immediately.

What is the discipline policy?
Summer Rocks has a zero-tolerance policy. All campers and their families will be provided with the camp’s rules of conduct and any camper who does not adhere to these rules will be asked to leave.

Summer Rocks the Waterfront!
Summer Rocks is pleased to announce that, once again, we will have an opportunity to showcase our students during Rockford’s annual Labor Day music festival, On the Waterfront. During the course of the camp, teachers will be evaluating the students’ progress and aptitude for working with others in a group setting. Those students who demonstrate a strong level of dedication, persistence, hard work, and a high level of commitment and focus will be invited to participate in our Summer Rocks Waterfront line-up.
